In a remarkable display of innovation and compassion, two students from Shah Abdul Latif University, Sumaya Bhutto and Tohftul-Nisa Mirani, have successfully designed and showcased a groundbreaking drone ambulance model at the prestigious annual Science Expo. Their invention aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery during flood situations, providing swift assistance to those affected.
Inspired by the potential of drone technology, Sumaya Bhutto and Tohftul-Nisa Mirani, both final-year students in the Physics department, have developed a drone ambulance prototype that promises to reach areas inaccessible to traditional ambulances. By harnessing the power of drones, they aim to deliver vital medications and immediate aid to stranded individuals with unparalleled speed and efficiency.
One of the notable features of their drone ambulance is its ability to identify people in need of assistance, enabling prompt aid delivery to the most vulnerable. The drone is remotely controlled through a mobile phone or laptop, granting the operators real-time access and control over its movements.
Equipped with a powerful 1000 KV motor, the drone can operate for an impressive duration of 30-40 minutes, covering distances at a speed of 70 meters per hour. With a remarkable carrying capacity of up to 30 kg, the drone ambulance includes a specially designed built-in first aid box, ensuring that critical medical supplies are readily available when needed.
Sumaya Bhutto emphasized the significance of their creation, referring to it as an “air ambulance” due to its capacity to swiftly deliver aid. She also mentioned the potential for future enhancements by utilizing even more powerful motors, which would enable the drone to carry an even larger payload, further enhancing its life-saving capabilities.
The innovative drone ambulance developed by Sumaya Bhutto and Tohftul-Nisa Mirani has the potential to revolutionize emergency healthcare response during flood situations. With its ability to access remote and challenging areas, deliver essential aid, and identify those in need, this remarkable invention has the potential to save countless lives.
